Describe your beauty routine, has it changed since becoming a mother, what are your "cant live with out" products?

I am fanatical about face cleansing, moisturising and eye cream! No matter how tired I am I always remove my make up, cleanse and moisturise my face before I go to bed.

I use Bioderma Crealine to remove make up it is amazing! I am a long time user of Dermolgica Special Cleansing Gel, if you are too lazy to take off your make up separately it does it anyway! I use an Envrion toner and moisturiser together with Dr Spiller Collagen Cream which I love. Sometimes at night I like to use a face oil (rose hip or Aesop Fabulous Face Oil) and since having Archie I use a moisturiser underneath for extra hydration. I also have two masks (Dermolgica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque and Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask) that I alternate and usually leave on overnight once a week.

I'm currently using Apot.care Irido-Radiant eye cream to help disguise my tired eyes. I like to mix it up for my body- I use coconut oil, Palmers Cocoa Butter or Nuxe multi purpose oil.

Since being a mum and breast feeding the only change to my beauty routine is adding additional hydration. Make up wise it's whatever I can manage in ten minutes to leave the house looking acceptable. I am a massive fan of any treatments I can do to help assist this! An eyebrow tint, lash extensions, Shellac or Bio Sculpture. My go to products for day to day are Concealer, BB creme and a neutral lip gloss. While I was pregnant and also after I have loved using Dermologica Ultra Calming Mist for my face, I always carry it in my bag in case of a mini meltdown.

Hair wise Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is my go to most days, as I don't have time to blow dry and straighten my hair. I could also have shares in Klorane Dry Shampoo.

How would you describe your day to day style? Has it changed since becoming a mother?

It has definitely changed! It's almost hard to remember what my style was pre mum life/pregnancy. As I am on maternity leave and not dressing for work it has become much more relaxed and casual.

I wear a lot of Bassike! I'm slowly fitting back into my Lover pieces as well as more fitted shirts and tops. I dream of wearing dresses again- once I finish breastfeeding! It has been so nice to get dressed up on the odd occasion we have been out since Archie arrived.

K Jacques sandals and Celine bags are my go to for everyday accessories. Although my Goyard tote given as a baby shower gift has been the best baby/everything bag ever!

What are your wardrobe staples?

Lover and Bassike take up a lot of real estate in my wardrobe. I wear a lot of denim- jeans, skirts and shorts!

I live in my leather pants in winter, I have five black pairs that all serve a different purpose! Lace has become an integral part of my wardrobe since working at Lover. I love wearing in the day with flats and dressing down with a tee. I'm partial to a shirt- especially silk. I have an excess of striped and plain white and grey marle tees.

I also own a lot of blazers. I love Proenza Schouler and Celine accessories. Zara is great for a budget purchase, particularly if shopping overseas they always seems to have better product.

I always prefer to purchase something that is an investment and classic piece- usually in black!

What do you never leave home without?

These days nappies and Sophie the Giraffe!!! I always have in my bag paw paw, sunglasses, mints, perfume and my make up bag as I usually do my make up in the car!

Describe your home style.. what do you love most about your home?

My home style is very neutral and quite minimal. I don't like clutter! I love using soft furnishings to change up a room or make it feel more homely. I'm partial to coffee table books, flowers and candles to add interest to a room and am currently going through a copper and marble phase.

My favourite things about our home are the high ceilings, the light, and our proximity to water. Our long, wide hallway gives us the perfect place to hang our large pieces of artwork. Archie's room is our favourite with the bay windows and (very) slight harbour glimpses. I love our hydrangea bush, its so nice to fill the house with fresh flowers picked from your own garden!

We have a small backyard that is nice to escape to with Archie in the afternoon witching hour- he likes to lie and watch the trees. I also LOVE that we have a clothes line- there is nothing better than hanging your whites out in the sun!

Being a first time mum, what have you found most challenging?

It is all very challenging! Sleep deprivation in the newborn stage was brutal. The physical recovery from labour and pregnancy mixed with no sleep can become overwhelming so looking after yourself and eating well is so important, its not just about the baby.

Learning to balance motherhood, marriage and other relationships as life outside the newborn bubble continues is hard. The new responsibility that comes with parenthood is a massive challenge. You are solely responsible for the well being of the most precious thing in your life.

Trying to let go of the little things and worry less- allowing mess in the house is a big struggle for me. It will be interesting once Archie starts crawling and walking!

No one told me how hard breastfeeding would be in the early days and how long you would spend feeding. It is something you take for granted and assume will come naturally- in some cases you really have to work at it and it can be painful! I also found initially sticking to a routine difficult.  I always knew I would be in favour of a more routine led parenting style, I have a wonderful mothercraft nurse that helps with this monthly and has done since Archie was 6 weeks old. It doesn't always come easy, especially at first, and it takes a lot of discipline to stick to daily.

What do you love most about motherhood?

The unconditional, intense love that is attached to that little being that arrives and changes your life in an instant. The sense of family and purpose that you didn't realise was missing from your life for so long. Watching them grow, learn and develop their personality melts your heart on a daily basis. I have always wanted to be a mum and its everything and more than I expected!

Getting to the end of each day is rewarding in itself! It is the best feeling once the night time routine is finished, Archie is asleep, the house is clean and we are relaxing on the couch. Although we usually miss him by about 8.30pm and start looking at photos of him on our phones!

CURRENTLY ADDICTED TO..

Chantecaille Radiance Gel Bronzer. Suits. Coyo- particularly chocolate flavour. Making future travel plans as a family. Hendricks and tonic with cucumber and a dash of cracked pepper. Pressed Juices. Archie's chubby cheeks!!!

What is the first thing you do when you get some “me time”?

It is usually a quick mani/pedi or waxing appointment- night appointments are my saviour! I have also managed to have a few massages and I love to escape to Pilates sans Archie if possible.

I am looking forward to finally seeing a movie at the cinema sometime soon!

Even if I can't leave the house and I need some time out/me time I love to put on a face mask, exfoliate, or fake tan to make myself feel human again.
